Cindy L. Cyr, 70, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at St. Mary Health Care surrounded by her family.
She was born February 7, 1954, in Lafayette, IN, to Richard E. and Martha L. (Sorenson) Cyr.
Cindy graduated a semester early from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1973.
Cindy married Dean J. Klutzke in 1980 and after divorcing they remained lifelong friends.
She worked as a Sales Assistant and Secretary for Pella Windows for many years.
Cindy enjoyed dancing on the bar top at the Filling Station. She loved to clown around, her clown name was “Sadie Mae”. She loved to make people laugh. She loved to travel when she got the chance.
Her most precious time was that spent with family and caring for her grandchildren. She was the biggest supporter to her children and grandchildren.
The staff at St. Mary Health Care helped care for Cindy in the last year of her life. They became family to Cindy and Cindy’s children.
She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Surviving are sons, Paul D. (Michelle) Shamp, Joseph F. Davenport III (fiancé Danielle Stingley); daughter, Traci L. (Justin) Gregory; grandchildren, Alx J. Pierce, Elizabeth R. Davenport, James J. Gregory, Tanner L. Gregory; brothers, David W. Cyr and Richard D. Cyr; sister, Jan M. (Edward) Farrell and many friends.
Cynthia was preceded in death by brother, Michael E. Cyr, and her parents, Richard E. and Martha L. Cyr.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette with Father John Nguyen officiating.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to be given in Cindy’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
