Chris L. Wenrick, 73, of West Point, passed away on February 18th at IU Med Center in Indianapolis with his family at his side.
He was born November 19, 1942 in Jasper County. Chris married Phyllis Gravesen on February 2, 1963 in Morocco, IN. He retired from Ball Metals in 2000.
Sipping ice tea and taking the scenic back roads were a good day to Chris. He enjoyed fishing for hours. If the fish weren't biting, it was still a good day. Chris found happiness in helping, whether assisting with a project or answering a pondering question, he wanted to be the first to help. He adored his family and those that they loved equally the same. Chris valued his possessions in a different way than most, for if he owned it it was yours as well, that made him truly happy. He was a genuine, selfless soul with a heart that only allowed him to love, never letting anything change that. All that knew him find it hard to reflect on his memory without a smile or a laugh, because to Chris, every day was a good day.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis and his furry companion Winnie. Sons- Chris (Sarah), Scott (Amy), Chuck (Amy). Daughters- Shelly Hammon (Jeff), Mary Wenrick (Dean). 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild…and those that they loved equally the same.
Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 23rd at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909.
