Cheryl E. Perkins Tully, 54, of Lafayette, went to be the the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at St. Elizabeth East. She was born January 16, 1961, in Noblesville, IN, to the late Marion and Mildred “Mickey” (Murphy) Perkins. Cheryl graduated from Western Boone Community High School in 1979. She received her Bachelors degree from Indiana State University and a Masters from Purdue Univeristy. On June 16, 1990 she married Joseph Tully in Lafayette and he survives. Cheryl taught for Lafayette School Corp. for 25 years and retired in 2011. She was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed traveling, history, music, animals, nature, genealogy; however, her faith, family and friends were the most cherished. Cheryl loved flying and received her pilots license while attending Indiana State University. Surviving along with her husband are her children Christina M. Tully, Joshua S. P. Tully both at home. Also survivng is her sister Karen L. Clark (Rix) of Frankfort. Cheryl was preceded in death by a sister Pamela K. Perkins. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at First Christian Church, 329 N 6th Street, Lafayette. Friends will be received 1 hour prior to a 2:00 PM service on Wednesday at First Christian Church, Rev. Greg Eberhard officiating. Those wishing may contribute to Leiomyosarcoma Direct Research or First Christian Church, Lafayette, in Cheryl’s memory.
