Charles William “Chuck” Hurst, 62, of West Lafayette, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Franciscan Alliance in Greenwood.

He was born July 2, 1961, in Lafayette, to the late Charles and Patty (VanCourt) Hurst.

Chuck served in the Army Reserves before being honorably discharged.

In 2009, he married Bonnie Sue (McCarter) Hurst and she survives.

Chuck worked over 25 years at Lafayette Venetian Blind and Oscar Winski for a short time following.

He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time with his family and friends, fishing, traveling, hunting mushrooms, skipping rocks, helping others, gardening, animals, cooking and making peanut butter fudge.

Surviving along with his wife, Bonnie of West Lafayette, a stepdaughter, Jennifer Clingerman, two brothers, Michael (wife Cece) Hurst and Ronald (wife Kay) Hurst. Also surviving are five grandchildren, one great grandchild as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Chuck was preceded in death by two stepsons, Terry Clingerman, II and Nathaniel David Draper.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.  Lafayette.  Interment will follow at Spring Vale Cemetery.
