Charles W. Dyer, 73, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at IU Health Arnett Hospital. He was born November 27, 1949, in Lafayette, to the late William and Edna (Korschot) Dyer. Charles graduated in 1969 from Lafayette Jefferson High School and served in the Navy after graduation, during the Vietnam War.
On March 18, 1972, he married Debra A. Conn in Lafayette, and she survives. Charles was a dedicated service technician for Korschots Heating and Cooling for 30 years, retiring in 2014 to care for his father.
He regularly attended Community Reformed Church, Lafayette, and played softball on their church team in his younger years.
Charles loved fishing with friends, especially in the beautiful lakes of Minnesota; he watched and learned about the birds in his backyard, he loved rooting for Purdue sports, and most of all, spending precious time with his three grandchildren, Sullivan, Olivia and Malia.
Surviving along with his wife are his children Amy L. (Crispus) Moore of Indianapolis, Justin C. (Kylie) Dyer of West Lafayette. Also surviving are his sisters Brenda (John) Leimkuhler of Gambrills, Maryland, Marcia (James) Dietrich of Lafayette, and numerous other beloved family members. Charles was preceded in death by a brother Leslie Dyer and sister-in-law Judith Dyer.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Community Reformed Church in Lafayette. Service will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Community Reformed Church in Lafayette, Mark Withers officiating. Interment will be at Meadow View Cemetery Lafayette, IN.
