Bryant Martin left a message on September 13, 2023:
My prayers for Charles' wife and daughter, and her family, and all family members. I served with Charles Mayberry, under his supervision, at Subic, Philippines. He was the most wonderful guy to work for, and his sense of humor never stopped. It was a pleasure to go to work with Charles in charge. I miss him very much. My wife, Helen, who also knew him, sends her condolences for the family. God bless this man, and his entire family.

Charles, was a wonderful friend. He was always there if you ever needed help in anyway. If anyone needed help at Brady Lane Church, Charles, knew what to do and how to fix it. There was always gas in the garage for the lawn mowers thanks to Charles. He kept a schedule on who was mowing next. Charles, has a wonderful family. Everyone who knew Charles, loved him so much. He always had a smile on his face. You will have no more pain Charles. Boy what a party you are having in Heaven now. We will all see you in a few hours, days or years. Love you dear friend. Love, the David Randolph, family.

I extend my sincerest condolences to the Mayberry family. I met Charlie when I became a Habitat for Humanity volunteer after I retired from the Air Force. Charlie immediately made me feel at home there. His being a military retiree gave us an immediate connection, and I felt great camaraderie with him. He was a fine man and a great example for others. I had great respect for him. While Charlie's time with Habitat far exceeds mine, and I eventually moved on, it was a true pleasure when I would occasionally bump into him elsewhere. It is always a sad day when we lose such a fine friend, and I will miss him.
