Carolyn Louise Ping (née Kelsey), 80, passed away June 28, 2026, in Lafayette, Indiana. Born on January 18, 1946, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, to the late Earl and Helen (Rice) Kelsey, Carolyn lived a life defined by faith and family, with steadfast devotion to both.
She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, William Fred Ping Jr., who stood by her side through a lifetime of shared memories. Carolyn’s legacy of love continues through her devoted children: daughters Paula Renee (Garland) Bissinger, Diana Cae (Chris) Cain, and Toni Marie Tracer; and sons William Fred (Sue) Ping III and James Bradley (Dana) Ping. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Linda Coppock, and her eight cherished grandchildren: Kelly, Justin, Kaleigh, Sarah, Andrea, Daniel, Lauren, and Alicia.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Kelsey and Denny Kelsey, her sister, Lana Burnell, and her beloved granddaughter, Erin Ping.
Carolyn was a great cook and baker, who enjoyed trying new recipes. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed studying the Bible and spending time with family and friends.
A private graveside burial will be held for the family on Friday, July 3, 2026.
