Carole L. (Blind) Fletcher, 90, of Lafayette, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimers on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 1019 Belle’s Place of Crawfordsville, with family by her side.
She was born December 8, 1935, in Lafayette to George and Grace (Booth) Blind. She was raised on the family farm and attended Pine Village High School. In her youth, she was an active member of Warren County 4-H. She was a proud Wife, Mother, and Nana that always put her family first. She worked part time for the Journal & Courier for a time. On May 24, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Alvin Leon Fletcher in Pine Village. The couple were married almost 64 years before Leon passed on February 18, 2017.
Strong in her faith, Carole was an active member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where she was involved in the Women’s Circle, was a Sunday School teacher, and was one of the Church Deacons.
Carole was an active with her children’s activities, assisting Scout leaders as well as teaching sewing for Tippecanoe County 4-H. Carole and Leon also enjoyed traveling. Later in life, she enjoyed participating in water aerobics at the YMCA and YWCA.
She is survived by her 2 children, Mike Fletcher (Jane Phillips) and Robin (Brian) Winter, both of Lafayette; 4 grandsons, Wesley (Jenni) Fletcher, Nick (Stephanie) Fletcher, Joshua (Carol) Winter, and Keegan (Alexa) Winter; 7 great-grandchildren, Wyatt (Ryley) Fletcher, Kylie (Logan) Buckles, Rheilyn Fletcher, Cooper Fletcher, Khloe Fletcher, Noah Winter, and Sutton Winter; a great-great-grandson, Urijah Fletcher; a sister-in-law, Loreta Kiger; daughter-in-law, Ann Fletcher; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
Along with her husband, Leon Fletcher and her parents, George and Grace Blind, Carole was preceded in death by her sister, Mary (Phil) Crane and a great-grandson, Austin Fletcher.
A private family interment will be held at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
Memorial visitation will be from 11:00 am until Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 3305 Longlois Drive, Lafayette, IN 47904, with Rev. Kevin Bowers officiating,
