Cale D. “Corky” Buman, 45, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021, at Franciscan Health East.

He was born August 17, 1976, in Lafayette, to Judith (Newbold) Buman of Lafayette and the late Clarence “Henry” Buman.

Corky graduated from McCutcheon High School and attended Kankakee Junior College in Kankakee, IL.

Corky worked for Basham Rentals for 25 years.

He was active in sports in high school and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf.

Surviving is his son Peyton M. Powell Buman, Laura Powell and her daughters Cora and Shelby, all of Lafayette. Also surviving is his brother Clarence D. “Chip” (Dawn) Buman Jr. of Peru.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.

Service will be at 10:00 am on Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment will be at West Point Cemetery in West Point, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for the trust fund for his son Peyton. Please make checks payable to Charles Schwab or you may donate via the app: Venmo@peyton-powell-buman, in Corky’s memory.

I just heard the news about Corky's passing and am so saddened. Judy, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you're going through. Corky was a great guy who I haven't seen in years, but have so many great memories with him from high school. RIP
