C. William Ridgley Jr. “Bill”, 79, of Lafayette passed away at 6:46 am Saturday, May 30, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born July 1, 1946 in Paris, IL he was the son of Charles Ridgley Sr and Julia Dawson Ridgley; he was one of five children. He graduated from Danville High School, Danville, Il in 1964. He married Patricia John on June 30, 1968 at Pine Village Christian Church.

Bill had a successful career in sales, starting at Decker’s in 1965, later moving to Smith Office Supply, and never officially retiring because he didn’t want the career to end.

He was a member of Brady Lane Church and participated in many church activities over the years. Bill was active with New Church Evangelism Fellowship (NCEF) for several years.

Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Angela Sexton, Amy Wenrick (Chuck), and Amber Walker (Jason); grandchildren, Zoie Swingle (Chase), Kytan Sexton (Lila), Lily Sexton, Selah Sexton, Jensen Wenrick, Sophie Wenrick, Jacoby Wenrick, Maddix Walker, Beatty Walker and Rosie Walker. He is reunited with his granddaughter Emma Grace Walker and his siblings Paul Ridgley, Nina Dutton, Donna Philpott, Barb Barkley and his parents.

So many thanks to the nurses at Franciscan Cancer Center and the entire hospice team. He told everyone they were his friends.

Bill’s family is hosting a celebration of life on June 26 at The Outpost, 2501 Old US 231 S. Lafayette from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
