Brett was a general contractor for many years owning his own business, also working closely with other contractors. He was known for his attention to detail in his carpentry work. Brett also had a quiet strength to him which allowed him to be a respected mentor to so many.
Wendy worked as a part time bookkeeper for several small businesses before she began full time employment at Purdue University for 17 years. Wendy’s most treasured job was being a mom to Hayden and Mallory and Gramma to Jaxxin. She had infectious smile and laugh and a heart that loved everyone.
Brett and Wendy were deeply loved by so many. They loved big, and they spent their time here on earth sharing their love serving others. They were active members of the Lafayette Church of Christ where Brett served as a deacon and Wendy often taught Children’s Bible Classes. They were active participants in the “adopt a college student” program with their church family and influenced many college students during their years at Purdue. They also served together at the Florida College Indiana Camp as mentors, cooks, activity leaders, and much more. Brett and Wendy together were advocates for healthy, thriving marriages. They loved each other deeply and wanted to encourage younger married couples to experience the type of love they shared. Aside from spending time with family and loved ones, Brett and Wendy enjoyed spending time together camping and admiring God’s creation. Last fall, they traveled out west for a month-long camping tour to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
