Bonnie L. Blake, 72, of West Lafayette, IN, peacefully went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2014. She was born April 9, 1942 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Walter and Dorothy Cronkright. Bonnie graduated in 1960 from Cedar Springs High School, Cedar Springs, MI. She received a BS and two master's degrees from Purdue University. She and Donald Blake were married in West Lafayette on March 25, 1967. He survives. Bonnie was a Clinical Professor of Communications in the Krannert School of Business MBA Program for over 20 years before retiring in 2010. She was actively involved in the Faculty Fellow Program with Owen Hall at Purdue for 30 years. She was also a faculty and spiritual advisor to women in the Stewart Christian Cooperative House at Purdue for many years. Bonnie and Don hosted a Friday Night College Christian fellowship in their home for over 40 years. Bonnie enjoyed mentoring young ladies in the ways of the Lord and served as advisor to the Collegians for Jesus student organization at Purdue. She was actively involved as a member of the Upper Room Christian Fellowship and enjoyed teaching children at the church. Surviving along with her husband are her children Christopher G. Blake (spouse, Jeannie) of Cleveland, TN and Kellie J. Troyer of Aiken, SC. She has eight grandchildren: Caleb, Lydia Baxley (spouse, Jessie) , Julia and Nathaniel Troyer, and Samuel, Katherine, Miriam and Lillian Blake. Also surviving are her brothers Thomas Cronkright (spouse, Sonya) of Cedar Springs, MI and Denis Cronkright (spouse, Barbara) of Kingman Arizona. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Friday November 21, 2014 at Upper Room Christian Fellowship. Funeral Service and celebration of Bonnie's life will be 10:00 am Saturday at Upper Room Christian Fellowship, Pastor Del Broersma officiating. Private burial will be at Grandview Cemetery following the service. Those wishing may contribute in Bonnie's memory to The Luke Commission, a nonprofit organization that delivers compassionate, comprehensive health care to the rural citizens of Swaziland, Southern Africa, as they battle the HIV/Aids and TB pandemic.
