Bill J. Woodward, 75, of Lafayette, IN, died at 7:45 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community where he had been a resident for five days.
He was born August 24, 1936, in Nashville, TN, to James H. and Louise Cline Woodward and was educated at Westmoreland High School in Westmoreland TN and Tennessee School of Broadcasting.
On February 16, 1957, he married Lamona “Mona” Myers and she passed away on January 20, 2011. Mr. Woodward was a Tech Service Manager for Schwab Safe for 25 years retiring in 2000. He was a 40-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie 347, where he was a past president, served on the Rituals/ Degree team, and called bingo for over 40 years. He was also a member of American Legion, Post 11, the Moose Lodge, and the V.F.W.
Mr. Woodward enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, word search puzzles, crosswords and time spent with his family.
Surviving are daughters, Kathy Kappes, Lafayette, IN, Tina Dexter husband Gregg, Lafayette, Traci Myers husband Jim, Lafayette, mother, Louise Cline Woodward, Westmoreland ,TN; brothers, Glenn Woodward, West Liberty, KY, Bobby R. Woodward wife Garnet, Springfield, TN; grandchildren, Eric Kappes wife Melinda, Seth Kappes, Joshua Dexter, Bradley Myers.
great-grandchildren, Bailey & Alex Miller, Danielle Kappes.
Visitation will be Sunday 5-8pm October 16, 2011 with an Eagles service at 7:30pm at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral Service 10am Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Dan Young officiating. Burial will be at Meadow View Cemetery. Preceded in death by father James H. Woodward and brother Jack Woodward.
