Betty Lou Graves, 85, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at her home. She was born March 15, 1939, in Lafayette, to the late Charles and Zala (Ross) Strong.
Betty graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and on October 5, 1957, she married Richard Graves in Lafayette, and he survives. Betty and her husband had owned and operated City Cab and she as was a Crossing Guard for Lafayette School Corporation. She loved attending all her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events.
Betty was a member of Pentecostal Church of God, Eagles Lodge and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Purdue Fan. She enjoyed going to casino’s and playing board games with her family and friends.
Surviving along with her husband are her children Richard E. (Kathi) Graves II of Pittsboro, Dennis W. (Theresa) Graves, Shannon S. (John) Withers, Stefanie K. (Chris) Black of all of Lafayette, 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Jerry (Barb) Strong of Lafayette. Betty was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 9:30am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Son-in Law, Rev Chris Black officiating. Entombment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lafayette.
