Betty J Myers, 82, formerly of Brook, IN, died Monday March 1, 2021 at Heritage Health Care West Lafayette, In. Born July 15, 1938, in Peru, IN, she was a 1956 graduate of Brook High School. Her parents were Amil and Helen M. Dubea Riegle.  She was the fourth of eight children.

She married Harold P. Myers on October 25, 1958, in Kentland, IN, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, he passed away in November 2008.

Betty was a homemaker, wife, mother, secretary for an insurance company and the Brook UMC, bookkeeper for Farmer’s Supply, bank teller at MainSource, receptionist for a law office and the Newton County jail, and farm hand.  She was also involved in her community through the Psi Iota Xi sorority, Community Club, 4-H leader, 4-H Council, and the Jasper-Newton Community Band where she played the bass drum with flare.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church where she served as a eucharistic minister and helped with funeral dinners when possible.

Surviving is her daughter, Vicki Triplett (Chas) of Lafayette; grandson Jason (Allyson) Triplett of Omaha, NE; sister Martha Deno of Brook; brother Paul “Tony” (Linda) Riegle of Mountain Home, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, parents Amil and Helen Riegle, sisters, Mary Graveson and Nellie May, brothers Larry, Walter “Butch”, and Lawrence Riegle.

Visitation will be Thursday March 4, 2021 Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel from 10am-11am service to follow at 11:00am.  Fr. Anthony Roland officiating. A graveside service at 1:30 pm eastern time at Riverside Cemetery, Brook.  Memorials may be made to charity of donor’s choice.
