Betty J. Huse, 89, of West Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at IU Health Arnett Hospital.  She was born October 31, 1932, in Lafayette to the late Richard and Mary (Shields) Weathers.  On July 27, 1951, she married Dewey O. Huse in Brookston, IN and he preceded her in death.

Betty worked as an operator for General Telephone for 20 years and retired in 1990.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and fishing.  She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are her children Russell W. (Jayne) Huse, Lu Ann Boehle all of West Lafayette, Belinda Flynn of Lafayette, stepchildren Sandra (Jim) Stanbro of Belen, NM, Kenneth (Mary Lou) Huse of Moore, OK, grandchildren Martha, Clayton, Oneal, Clinton, Greg, Allison, great grandchildren Nicholas, Zachary, Sebastian, Lillian, Hunter, Beau, Owen, Xavier, Isabella, Griffin, Jonah, Amelia, Miles and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Also surviving is her brother Larry (Barbara) Weathers of Thompson, ME.  Betty was preceded in death by a brother Richard Weathers and his wife Arlene.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West.  Service will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel.  Interment will be at Montmorenci Cemetery in Montmorenci, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
