Betty A. Braun

Our precious mother, Betty Ann Braun (nee Brown), 85, passed away on January 24, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lafayette, Indiana. Betty was born November 25,1937, in Marion, Wisconsin, to Emily (nee Krueger) and Arthur Brown.

After graduating from Marion High School on May 24, 1955, she had a long career as a bookkeeper and real estate agent. She was also a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Her hobbies included crafts, reading, and singing. Singing was truly a passion of hers, in which she shared through various choirs, holidays, and her everyday life. We will miss her sweet voice.

Betty is survived by her two children, Richard Lee Poppy Jr. and Susan Cearing (nee Poppy), both of Lafayette, Indiana; six grandchildren, Casey Poppy of Warsaw, Indiana, Sarah (Walter) Martin of Lafayette, Indiana, Bradley Cearing of Merrillville, Indiana, Jacob (Jenna) Little of Noblesville, Indiana, Joshua Little and Matthew Little, both of Lafayette, Indiana; three great grandchildren, Harrison Martin, Emily Martin, and Dean Little; three brothers William (Carolyn) Brown, James (Francine) Brown, and Robert (Irene) Brown, all of Wisconsin. She was proceeded in death by her parents Arthur and Emily, as well as her sister Mary (Russell) Dennison.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Lafayette, Indiana, with entombment following the service at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, 1718 West 350 North, West Lafayette, Indiana.
