Beth Ann Eikenberry Swinson died on June 9, 2026. She was born on June 7th, 1963, in West Lafayette, Indiana. She met Timothy Swinson while they both were students at University of Kansas, and they were married on May 26th, 1984. Beth Ann graduated in 1985 from the University of Kansas with a BA in Music Therapy and Music Education. She served for more than ten years as a certified Music Therapist, and she taught music (mostly voice) for more than thirty years, privately and as a faculty adjunct at Trinity International University. She maintained that everyone can make music and sought to foster a sense of freedom and a love for music in all of those whom she served and taught. Beth Ann often associated various periods of her life by the music that could be heard on the radio, and she wrote and taught a song to the kids when they were very young that would help them remember their home address and phone number.
Beth Ann loved her gardens, especially her perennials, and wherever she lived, she managed to beautify the family home with her gardens in front and in back. This love of flora was reflected as well in her love of nature and the outdoors; on family walks through the woods, she would investigate and identify the flowering plants she would encounter. In addition, Beth Ann was the primary instigator of the tradition of Swinson family camping trips to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and in various state parks of Indiana and Michigan.
Beth Ann loved her family well, but above all, she loved the Lord Jesus, worshiped him in song, and sought to walk in his ways.
Beth Ann is survived by her husband of 42 years, Timothy; her children, Maia Swinson (Thomas Kerschbaum) and Eric Swinson; her mother Joyce Eikenberry; and her brother David (Kathleen) Eikenberry.
She is preceded in death by her brother in infancy, Robbie.
Beth Ann’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service in West Lafayette, where she grew up. Sadly, her father, Jeris Eikenberry, also passed away shortly after her (see his own obituary). A combined service will be held for them both at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Covenant Church, 211 Knox Dr. West Lafayette, IN 47906 with a reception to follow.
