Berniece Roberts

Berniece A. Roberts, 98, of Lafayette, died at 2:20 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011, at St. Mary Health Care.
She was born Aug. 1, 1912, in Cheneyville, Ill., to the late William and Nettie Erwin Baxter. She graduated from Ambia High School in Ambia.
On March 28,1929, in Milford, Ill., she married Jay E. Roberts, and he died in March 1972.
Mrs. Roberts worked in building services as a maid at Hawkins Grad House West for 13 years, retiring in May 1978. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and reading.
Surviving are 1 granddaughter, Sara A. Sanders husband Mark of Lafayette; 1 grandson, James S. Wolsieffer of Chicago; great-grandchildren, John R. Sanders (wife: Jennifer), Audra A. Sanders, Jessica L. husband Chris Wolsieffer and Jay H. Wolsieffer; and great-great-grandchildren, Ethan and Evan Pastore. Preceded in death by a son, Lt. James E. Roberts; and a daughter, Patricia A. Wolsieffer

She treasured every visit, every card, every letter and every phone call she received from all of you. Berniece was a dear, treasured friend and cousin, and I will miss her very much.
