Today I called my friend Barbara to wish her a happy birthday only to find her cell phone no longer in service. I immediately felt a sense of sadness come over me. I Googled her name hoping my fears weren't true. :( I new Barbara briefly while she lived and worked here in Stuart, Florida. She was a wonderful person and a sharp cookie! When I called her one day to let her know I was on my over to her condo to pick her up and bring her to my home to ride out the storm with me and my family she replied, "Oh no, I'll be alright. Don't worry about me. If it gets bad I will just hunker down in the tub!" Barbara spent three days and nights with us until her power was restored. We talked about life and watched old movies together as a family. I will miss my friend but more importantly, the world misses people like Barbara! She was a "salt of the earth" kind of human being and I will forever be better for having known her.

My dear, dear friend of 30+ years - I miss you so much. We had so many fun times and you got me through some rough times too. You had so much courage with all you faced in life; what a wonderful example you set for us all. Rest peacefully now that you are once again with your beloved Jack. My love and condolences to Courtney and Cathy, your brother Bob whom I never met but always felt I knew, and the rest of your family. Dianne Robbins Florida
