Barbara F. (Webb) Ralston, 97, passed away at 6:50 am on Friday, December 7, 2018 at her residence.
She was born August 30, 1921 in Wingate to the late Elmer S. and Frances D. (Bunnell) Webb.
Barbara graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School.
On May 17, 1942 she married Robert G. Ralston in Denver, Co. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2005.
Barbara worked as a secretary and accountant for Lafayette Life Insurance Company, College Life and Omega Oil Company before retiring.
Barbara’s family enriched her life, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and the Mary Martha circle. She was a former member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and held Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women of the U.S.A. She was a member of the Montmorenci chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc., and enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry Reash (husband Stephen) of Lafayette and Sandra Ralston (husband Chris Kendig) of Isle of Palms, SC; a sister, Martha Gilkey of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Nicole Simpkins (husband Templeton), Amanda Knoy (husband Brad) and Tyler Reash; five great grandchildren, Taylor and Patrick Simpkins and Sawyer, Eisley and Paxton Knoy, as well as a niece, Terri Damon (husband Steve,) and a nephew, Greg Gilkey (wife Kathy).
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and a great grandson, Cole Simpkins,
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909 with Rev. Dr. T.J. Jenney, PhD, and nephew Dr. John Johanssen, PhD, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wingate.
