Barbara Brown Boisseau, 70, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at her home.  She was born August 4, 1955, in Chicago, IL, to the late Danny Street and Ernestine Winston.  Her marriage was to Leonard Boisseau and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2013.  Barbara loved to listen to music, play her keyboard, guitar, audiobooks, candies, pretzels and going shopping.

She was a very bright, strong person and transparent, always willing to help others.  Barbara definitely enjoyed her time being here through the ups and downs and the good and bad.  She will forever be in our hearts.

Surviving are her daughters Sheena (Michael) Boisseau Phillips-Henley, Serena Boisseau, Yolanda Brown, Georgina Brown, grandchildren Camiya, Mariah, Gamel, Corniya, Shakiyah, Lonell, Lasheena, Lareena, Devonte, Diangelo, Parris, great grandchildren Demi, Dandre and D’angelo.  Also surviving is her sister Marie, nephew Bobby, loved ones Leonard, Kerry, Tatiana and D’Andre.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday March 7, 2026, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.
