B. Lillian Connelly, 95, of Sarasota, FL, died at 10:25 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, at Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota, FL.
She was born Mar. 9, 1922, to the late Lambert J. and Bertha Ann Fry Kolkana.
She was married to J. Franklin Connelly for more than 60 years, as life-long residents of Tippecanoe County, spending their winters in Florida for 35 years. Lil was a permanent resident of Sarasota for the past three years.
She was a member of Brown Street United Methodist Church for over 65 years, where she served on the board and taught Sunday School.
Lillian worked at National Homes Acceptance Corp., Tippecanoe Co Treasurer’s Office, and Pay Less Supermarket. She served on the election board and was active in local politics.
Her pleasures were spending time with family and friends, Purdue sports, flowers, cooking, gardening, golf, fishing, and euchre.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Ruth Anneren (husband: Ted) of Sarasota, FL, one son, Donald F. Connelly (wife: Janet) of Lafayette, and daughter-in-law, Kathie Connelly of Sarasota.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Tonda Cockrell (husband, Darrell), Carla Workman (husband, Frederick), Clint Connelly (wife, Jen), Gabe Connelly (wife, Michelle), and Brock Connelly (wife, Desiree), 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Frank, brother, Bernard P. Kolkana (wife, Kay), sister, Martha Ann Newkirk (husband, Lewis), and son, John A. Connelly.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Brown Street United Methodist Church, with Pastor Ryan Traeger officiating. Burial will follow at Battle Ground Cemetery.
