Arnold E. Hansell, 82, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, December 6, at Franciscan Health Lafayette.
He was born on June 3, 1936, in Clinton to the late Ervin F. and Laura (Brockmeier) Hansell. On May 18, 1962, he married Janet Campbell and she died June 25, 2015.
Mr. Hansell resided in Lafayette for over 50 years. He owned and operated Hansell Scale Service Inc. for 33 years before retiring in 2003. He was a life-member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners, and he served as a past president of the Tippecanoe Shrine Club. His favorite hobby was working on landscaping and gardening projects for the beautiful yard at his home.
Survivors include his daughter, Lorie Yager of Carmel, his son, Rick (wife Karen) Hansell of Lafayette, three grandsons, John Yager of Carmel, Tom (wife Stacey) Hansell of Conover, NC, Steve (wife Megan) Hansell of Brazil, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Frank Hansell, and sisters, Mary Carter, Dorothy Beeman and Evelyn Jean Wallace.
Visitation will be Thursday December 13, 2018 from 5-8pm Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with masonic service at 7:45 by Battleground Lodge #313. Funeral Friday December 14, 2018, 11:30AM Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Burial 3:00PM Friday Anderson Memorial Park, 6805 M.L. King Blvd. Anderson, IN
