Arlene D. Nacke, 88, of Mulberry, died at 8:10 a.m. Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
Born July 26, 1922, in Esther, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Birdie Easter.
After graduating from high school she attended nurses training at City Hospital in St. Louis, becoming an RN. She was an RN until retiring.
Ms. Nacke attended Dayton United Methodist Church. She volunteered at Mulberry Health and Retirement for 12 years, winning volunteer of the year twice. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and gospel music.
Surviving are two sons, Alan Nacke (wife: Marilyn) of Battle Ground and Randy Nacke of Lafayette; and a daughter, Diane McDonald of Lafayette
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Kevin McDonald (wife: Lindsey), Aaron Nacke (wife: Melissa), Shelli Kelley (husband: Eric), Thomas Melville, Anita Dancer and Angela and Larry Nacke Jr.; and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Melville; a son, Larry Nacke; a grandson, Stephen Melville; a sister; and 2 brothers.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, 47909. A graveside service will follow at West Point Cemetery with Pastor Joe Bell officiating.
