Alice Christina “Chris” Ratcliff, born November 6, 1947, passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2026, with her devoted husband of 40 years, David Ratcliff, by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois K. Patton and Arthur Kalweit, and her brother, Jim Kalweit.
Chris is survived by her husband David; daughters Hollie Roadruck (Don) and Connie Richardson (Rodney), and honorary son, Tom Murtaugh. Also surviving are her sister Sharon Kay; grandchildren Julian York (Zachary), Kaylee Hughes (Sam Smith), and Lindsey Hughes (Josh Bhattarai); and great-grandchild Vincent York. A lifetime member and former senior regent of the Moose Lodge, Chris retired from Alcoa after many dedicated years. She treasured family gatherings and was always up for a party-especially her legendary Indy 500 race parties! She enjoyed camping, gardening, playing cards and dice, and sipping Milwaukee’s Best Light. Known for her colorful “Chris-isms”, catchphrases that were often off color, she brought laughter wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on June 27 at Crawfordsville Moose Lodge, 404 Waynetown Road, from noon until 3 PM, with a brief remembrance at 12:30 PM.
