Steve, you are one of those wonderful people who always brought a smile to everyone's face, always lit up any room you were in with your infectious kindness and true joy for life and all it has to offer, always took the opportunity to help others with a good word or so much more, and truly made the world a so much better place simply by being in it. I'm going to miss you more than I could ever put into words. I'm going to miss your mad karaoke skills. I'm going to miss our late night games of Magic with your intelligently proxied cards with the cool sleeves. I actually started playing Magic again because of you, and I was looking forward to introducing you to my fellow-nerd partner and getting you to come play Sentinels of the Multiverse or Monster of the Week with us. I miss being able to nerd out with you about games and music. I miss talking to you in general, because you always had something intelligent, insightful, and hilarious to say. You always had the right words to cheer anyone up. I miss your heartfelt brilliant smile. You are, were, and always will be, one of the best, purest-souled, kindest people I've ever met. Thank you for being my friend. This weird nerd lady will never forget you or the immense good you brought into my life and into the world at large. You will forever be in my heart, awesome dude. To all of Steve's family, friends, and loved ones, you have my very deepest condolences and support. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. It seems utterly unfathomable that he's not with us anymore. Such an amazing soul is gone to soon no matter when they go, but especially when it is far, far too soon like this. There is a massive hole in the world, and in the hearts of everyone who knew him, where he should still be in actuality, but will always be in memory. Steve, you are loved and you will never, not ever be forgotten. I miss you, my friend.

Steve Scott and I worked together when we worked as English teachers in South Korea. I was immediately struck by the kindness and empathy Steve showed in everything he did. The kids at the school loved him. Later, when Steve became a parent himself, I was consistently impressed by Steve's patience, compassion, and wisdom. I learned a lot from him as a parent, and as a friend. He will be sorely missed, and my deepest condolences go to his family and every life he touched. He was truly a bright light in this world.
