When I think of Steve Doty the first thing that comes to mind is a true “role model”!!!!!
Our family is beyond grateful to have known him as a best friend, brother, father, grandfather to our family as well as many others!!!
His presence was always welcoming to all.. He always knew what to say no matter the situation, and his hugs were the BEST!
Our driveway wisdom was made wise by his trivia and many stories of travel and experiences with CAT. He was always up for a new adventure..
Steve ALWAYS put his family first! He has instilled in them that family truly does come first.
I have no doubt that he is in heaven with Harley, once again proving to be man’s best friend.

My condolences to the family. I welded with Steve on the truck line 3rd. shift way back in the day. We had tons of fun and memories, we were the same age and are paths went different directions at Cat Decatur, but we remained friends and visited when are paths crossed at work. I never got to work for Steve when he became a supervisor, but i always thought if I ever got the chance I’d have it made. One quick story. One night Steve and I were working across from each other welding truck parts, when he starts hollering help. Knowing that we always messed with each other, I told him to F off, to which he replied, no really help, my hands caught ! He was fine, I called him a pussy, and went back to work. Loved this guy. Just breaks my heart . So sorry for your loss
