Robert W. “Bob” Yost, 98, of Mulberry, formerly of Dayton, passed away October 4, 2022, at Mulberry Health and Rehabilitation in Mulberry.
He was born April 9, 1924, in Tippecanoe County to the late Dale M. and Cora Belle (Gingrich) Yost. Bob first was married to Jane V. (Roberts) Yost in Dayton, on September 9, 1945, and she passed, August 23, 2016, they divorced, and he later married Susan Lininger on August 23, 1974. She preceded him in death in 2015.
Bob graduated from Dayton High School in 1942. He received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in WWII. In 1948, he began working for his father, Dale M. Yost as an Electrician and Plumber and retired in 1997.
He was a member of Dayton Memorial Presbyterian Church and a 75-year member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #103. He was also a member of the American Legion and Shriners.
His hobbies were working on radios and TV’s and building engines.
He is survived by his 4 children, Jerry (Betty) Yost of Kokomo, Nancy Summers and Shirley Babb, both of Lafayette, and Mary Ann (Dan) Kerkhoff of West Lafayette; 8 grandchildren, David (Sandy) Brettnacher, Dennis (Gina) Brettnacher, Dennise (Tony) Grater, Brad (Christina) Yost, Karen Yost, Shea Kerkhoff (Ben Vessa), Sharon (Adam) Wright and Joshua (Jenn) Kerkhoff; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; niece, Susan Clawson; and nephew, Tom (Candace) Yost.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Yost; sister-in-law, Julia Yost; nephew, Bill Yost, sons-in-law, Bill Summers and Mike Babb.
Visitation will be Monday October 10, 2022, from 10:00am – 12:00pm service to follow at 12:00pm at Memorial Presbyterian Church of Dayton 731 Walnut St. Dayton, In 47941.Officiating Re. Dr. Gladys Nwabah and Mr. Michael Grimes. Interment Wyandotte Cemetery, Tippecanoe County.
