Sorry to hear of Marvin's passing. I worked with Marvin at Pay Less Supermarkets when Smitty's closed. He was someone that I looked up to. He had an impact on my life and I thought about him a lot over the years. He could out work most people half his age.

I will always remember your smile whenever we came to see aunt Chris and uncle Tim, you loved when we brought the little ones and you always played with them. I will never forget the happiness in your eyes watch the kids hunt Easter eggs and when Miranda did her little hunt you just lite up. You will forever hold a spot in my heart. Love you grandpa.

Marvin Davis went home to be with his Savior, January 24, 2022. He was always joyful. He worked for many years, well past his retirement. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and faithful Christian. Before I knew him as a Christian brother, I knew him as the produce guy at Smitty's on Northwestern Avenue in West Lafayette. We visited him in September of 2019 in a care facility near Marion. Though declining, he was joyful and full of life then, as he always was! I know that he's with the Lord now, not because he was a good man, but because he gave testimony that he had trusted Christ as his personal Savior.

Dear Davis family, Our Dad was the grocery shopper for our family and he shopped every Saturday at Smitty’s. He always took one of us kids with him each week. We loved seeing your dad and our Dad considered him a friend. During the summer, your dad would see us coming and say, “Thump you a cold one, Herb?” and then pick us out the tastiest watermelon every time! Such a fond memory of such a kind and friendly man! May God grant you peace with the many memories of him. RIP Marv.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
