Louann Irlene Jewell, 78, of Lafayette, passed away at 9:29 am Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born April 13, 1936, in Lafayette, to the late Norman Lucas and Ethel Mull Threlkeld. Louann married Raymond “Ray” Jewell, he passed away in 1975. Surviving are her children, Jeffery Jewell (Diane), Shelley (Jewell) Hayes, Sandra Tyrie all of Lafayette, Ronnie Tyrie and Michael Tyrie. A brother Jerry Lucas (Bonnie) of Lafayette and a sister Linda Naftzger of Illinois. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and her best friend Pat Dienhart. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Harold, Marvin, Daniel, Donald and Robert Lucas, a sister Lois Smith and a son Steve Jewell. There will be a private family burial at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
