Judith “Judy” Rose Stephenson, 84, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at her residence.

She was born September 2, 1938, in Lafayette, to the late Raymond and Ruth (Ummel) Butz.

Judy graduated from Jackson Heights High School.

On May 11, 1958, she married Edwin Michael “Mike” Stephenson in Lafayette and he survives.

Judy was a homemaker and sold Avon for over 30 years.

She was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed craft and hobby shows, yard sales, and she collected teddy bears for many years.

Surviving with her husband is a son Jerry (wife Debra) Stephenson of Lafayette, a brother, David Butz of Lafayette, a granddaughter, Samantha (husband Josh) Jenkins of Stockwell, and a great grandson, Christopher Jenkins.

Judy was preceded in death by two sons, Terry J. Stephenson, and Edwin M. Stephenson, II, a brother, Stephen Butz and a sister-in-law Colleen Butz.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette.  Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.

Memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s name to the Kidney Foundation.

Just saw that Judy passed and funeral was today. If I had seen it earlier I would have come. So very sorry Mike condolences to all your family. I actually had been wondering if you guys still lived in the same house. I sure wish I had come to see her at home a week or so ago. We sure sold alot of Avon together for those 30 years!!
