Harry I Kerr, 90, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at his home. He was born December 16, 1930, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Earl and Hildridge (Criger) Kerr.
Harry graduated from West Point High School and attended Butler University.
He was a veteran of the Army serving during the Korean War. On November 25, 1955, he married Carol Schilling in Lafayette and she preceded him in death on November 17, 2017.
Harry worked at TRW Ross Gear for 30 years, retiring in 1988.
He enjoyed spending time at his West Point property and looked forward to mushroom hunting every year.
Harry was an avid fan of Central Catholic Atheltics and enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete.
Surviving are his children Gretchen Fruits Lone of Lafayette, Robin (Rebecca) Kerr of Algonquin, IL, Lisa Becker, Nanette Borton both of Lafayette, Bryan Kerr of Aliso Viego, CA, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Harry was preceded in death by a son Mark Kerr, granddaughter Julia Fruits Montgomery and siblings Norma Davis, Richard “Pete” Kerr, Robert “Bob” Kerr, Thomas Kerr, Georgia Ahlbrand and Charles “ED” Kerr.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Livestream of the service will be on Harry’s obituary page at www.soller-baker.com. Interment will be at West Point Cemetery in West Point, IN.
