George William Moses

George W. Moses 72 of Lafayette, IN passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, at home.

He was born in Lafayette, IN on December 27, 1951, to the late Dr. Harold E. and Mrs. Lucile C. Moses.  He was a graduate of West Lafayette High School in 1969 and extended his education through many technical programs and self-study.  He lived his whole life in the Lafayette area.

His last position was highest level maintenance technician for the Wabash trailer manufacturing company in Lafayette for 25+ years. He was a true master at fixing anything. He met the challenges of maintaining highly complex electrical, mechanical, and robotic technologies with grace, knowledge, and occasional humor. Retirement was not in his plans. Earlier, George was a dedicated worker at Green Giant in Lafayette and Kroger Warehouse in Indianapolis both for 10 years interrupted by closures.

He led an active life that included the unique and unusual. He rode a unicycle, mastered throwing a knuckle ball pitch, and enjoyed a variety of plants and saltwater aquariums with exotic fish.  He liked catching up with classmates at high school class reunions, attending local festivals, and traveling to auto shows. His most recent interests included remote control aircraft and drones.

He is survived by his brother Harold Moses, Jr. (Joyce Mary), sisters Marjorie (Moses) Kliman (deceased Stephen) and Barbara Moses, cousin Alberta Walker, nephew Patrick Moses (Meredith Starr) and nieces Kathryn (Moses) Caimi (Kevin), Christine Kliman and Carol Kliman.

He was loved by his family, friends and will be greatly missed.

Visitation is from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday October 23, 2024, at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, IN.  Those wishing may contribute in George’s name to the First United Methodist Church, West Lafayette Public Library, or a charity of choice.
