Dora Castro

Dora Castro, 64, of Lafayette, IN passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Franciscan Health East.  She was born November 20, 1959, in Chalatenango, El Salvador to the late Victor Medina and Maria Teresa Carrillo.  On January 14, 1989, she married Domingo Castro, and he survives.

Dora enjoyed cooking for her husband, kids, grandkids, and friends. She loved sharing her cooking with everyone. She also enjoyed gardening fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Another interest of her was sewing, making skirts and dresses. She liked traveling with husband and family. She was a woman of God who enjoyed spending time with church family as well. But what she enjoyed the most above all was spending time with her family and friends, making memories with everyone she knew.

Surviving along with her husband are her children: Marisol Zaldivar, Blanca E. Montero, Rosario E. Mancía, Yeni E. Molina, Kimberly T. Castro, grandchildren Pedro E. Zaldivar, Kevin Menjivar, Katie Menjivar, Mike A. Zaldivar, Tiffany Mancia, Catherin C. Molina, Amy J. Zaldivar, Kenji Menjivar, Kathan Menjivar, Jonathan A. Molina, Dayanara A. Mancia, Jason E. Zaldivar, Sabanah Moran, Keaan Montero, Juliana S. Zaldivar, great grandchildren, Namari Pacheco and Sebastian Pacheco.

Also surviving are her siblings Santos Carrillo de Perez, María Dolores Carrillo de Portillo, Candelaria Carrillo de Mayorga, Francisco Carrillo and Víctor Manuel Carrillo.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Pastor Roberto Armendariz officiating.  Interment will be at Meadow View Cemetery 3733 Poland Hill Road, Lafayette, IN.
