Brian M. Giesler, 61, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at The Springs.
He was born July 22, 1963, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Charles L. and Rita J. (Bullock) Giesler.
Brian graduated from William Henry Harrison High School in 1981 and received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
On June 3, 1989, he married Jayne Byrd in Lafayette and she survives.
Brian worked as a Design Engineer at Caterpillar for the past thirty years.
He was a member of Faith Church and was an avid Purdue Sports fan, he enjoyed his dogs, being outside, working with his hands, gardening, traveling and loved spending time vacationing with Jayne.
Surviving is his wife, Jayne Giesler of Lafayette, a son, James (Ashley) Mitchell of Lafayette, two brothers, Charles L. Giesler of Westphalia, and Michael E. Giesler of Lafayette and a sister, Lisa J. (James) Wilbur of Ellettsville. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Bryce Mitchell, Dahlia Mitchell, Zoey Walker, and Scarlett Walker and many nieces and nephews.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Giesler and a sister, Deborah Million.
Visitation will be from 1:30 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:30 pm on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Trey Garner officiating. A private family burial will be at Meadow View Cemetery in Lafayette.
Memorial contributions may be made in Brian’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
