Susan, John and Norman, I was very sorry to read about the passing of Betty. We were neighbors on Chauncey many years ago. The obituary you wrote about your mom was so enlightening for us. We knew her as a very kind neighbor who always stopped to talk and a hero for her work in the Peace Corp. She was just a dear. We did not know about all the other contributions she had made to our community and families. She was obviously very modest and had a good heart. Unfortunately, after we moved and Betty moved to the Friendship House, we lost touch. Life just seems to put us in constant motion and we are sorry we did not make an effort to stay connected. Thank you for sharing your mom with us even for a short time. Our sincere sympathy to you.

There are no words to adequately explain the impact and love Betty Rowe spread throughout the community and indeed, anyone she came in contact with. I had the honor and privilege of meeting Betty many years ago through her oldest son and my best friend John. Always welcoming, she displayed such a calming demeanor that put anyone at ease. We all can only hope that her wonderful and impactful deeds are carried forward. You will never be forgotten Betty. RIP.

I will always remember Betty as a loving and generous friend. Years ago when the Latino community here had just begun to grow, Betty was a wonderful ambassador to Spanish speaking families. She may not have known Spanish but her warm smile inspired many. Oh how much better this world would be with just a few more Betty Rowe's, open-hearted, and sweet,, yet fearless.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Oh, what memories this brings back. (I had even forgotten about collecting and sending all those books to Thailand.) So glad that Betty had a long life but wish it could have been even longer, and oh how I will miss her.
