Soller-Baker Funeral Home is the only local funeral provider in Tippecanoe County offering the exclusive Cremation with Confidence™ Guarantee, with its trademarked 10-step process. We invite you to read each one of those steps below.
Many other funeral homes transfer your loved one to outside cremation services, making it impossible for the funeral home to manage and supervise the cremation. We have our own private crematory, so all of your services are handled and managed by our experienced funeral directors. You can rest assured knowing your loved one never leaves our care.
To ensure security, we assign identifying information to your loved one the moment they are transferred to our care.
Upon arrival, your loved one’s information is logged into our system, which is used to track every phase of the cremation process. Prior to cremation, they are assigned an identification number, which is also carefully tracked.
For your peace of mind, our funeral home provides you or a representative with the opportunity to positively identify your loved one prior to the cremation process. This takes place in a quiet, intimate environment allowing you to say your final goodbye. This service is made available to those families wishing to do so because of our private crematory to ensure your confidence.
Two licensed funeral directors will review all cremation paperwork and permits. This is to ensure authorizations and permits have been received and properly documented. Once all documentation is verified, both funeral directors must sign the cremation order prior to the cremation.
Immediately prior to the cremation process, your loved one is taken to the cremation chamber and their personal identification is noted in our cremation record. This record shows the names of the funeral directors, the date and time of the cremation, the identification number, and the crematory operator’s name. Our record is dated, and the start time is noted and recorded electronically by a funeral director before and after the cremation.
All cremations are completed by a licensed Indiana funeral director in our licensed and EPA-approved facility. The cremation takes place in an approved cremation container, and the process is monitored from start to finish. The crematory checklist and identification card are placed on the outside of the cremation chamber during the cremation process.
After the cremation is complete, the cremated remains are placed in the urn or a temporary container. The record is placed into our permanent files.
Our staff will notify you to schedule a time for receipt of the cremated remains. You are welcome to come to us, or we will deliver the remains to your home. If you come here, we will provide a dignified setting to receive the urn, where you may spend a few moments privately in quiet reflection.
We will assist in planning a funeral or memorial service either before or after the cremation, which will appropriately celebrate the life of your loved one.
A meaningful ceremony provides an opportunity for family and friends to pay tribute to your loved one and to share the memories of a lifetime.
