William D. Bushong, 72, of Lafayette, passed away at 8:15 am Friday, December 19, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 6, 1942, in Lafayette, to the late Charles and Ruth (Ray) Bushong. He graduated from Southwestern High School and attended Purdue University. William was a truck driver for over 40 years before retiring do to health reasons. On April 21, 1962 he married Barbara Williamson in Lafayette and she survives. Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Demetria Oberle (John) of Lafayette, Denise Bushong (Carmen) of Logansport, two sons, Darrell Bushong (Julie) of Delphi, Darin Bushong (Kathleen) of Ft. Myers, FL, two brothers, Jerry Bushong (Carolyn) of Colorado Springs, CO and Ron Bushong of Lafayette. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Joseph Park Jr officiating. Burial will follow at West Point Cemetery.
