Wendell K. McCormick, 88, of West Lafayette, formerly of Fowler, IN died at 9:40 PM Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus West Lafayette. He was born November 2, 1924 in Benton County, IN to the later Robert and Elizabeth Minier McCormick. He served in the United States Army During WWII. He graduated from Freeland Park High School, Freeland Park, IN and Kansas State University in 1952 with a BS in agriculture. On August 25, 1962 he married Lois Thackery McCormick and she survives. Mr. McCormick was a farmer in rural Benton County most of his life. He attended Bethany Presbyterian Church, enjoyed fishing, sports, and was an avid baseball fan. He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Otterbein. Surviving along with his wife are four Daughters; Lana Higginbotham husband Ed of Marrietta, GA, Nancy Marosevic husband Lou of Zionsville, IN, Susan Ewoldt husband Gerald of Annadale, VA, Kathleen Carter husband William of Manila, Iowa, four grandsons Lon, Kyle, Ethan and Liam. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, with Rev. Kevin Bowers officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Preceded in death by brothers Robert and Russel McCormick.
