Walter W. Frazier, 82
Walter Warren Frazier, 82, of Lafayette, died at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Clarian Arnett Hospital.
Born June 10, 1928, in West Point, he was the son of the late Jonah and Esther Balser Frazier.
He graduated from West Point High School and served in the Army from June 26, 1946 to Jan. 6, 1948.
His first marriage was to Bok Soon Jean. They later divorced and she preceded him in death. He married Betty Brant on April 16, 1975 in Lafayette.
Mr. Frazier worked at West Point Co-Op, and later worked in sales at the Lafayette Co-Op. He was instrumental in starting the West Point Volunteer Fire Dept., where he was former fire chief.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, the outdoors, and working on cars.
Surviving are his children, Marjorie Roller (husband: Tom) of Lafayette, Barbara Zadylak (husband: Nicholas) of South Bend, Johnny Frazier (wife: Linda) of Monticello, Jay Summers Jr. (wife: Dawn), Vicki Humerickhouse and Debra Nelson, all of Lafayette, and Pamela Roberts (husband: Richard) of Avon.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William Jack and Roy Frazier.
Visitation 1-2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 2 p.m. Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Ed Morrow officiating.
