Walter E. McKinniss, 71, of Lafayette, IN, died at 10:47 PM Wednesday September 24, 2013 at Regency Place.He was born May 20, 1942, in Lafayette, IN, to the late G. Walter and Marjorie”Billie” Williams McKinnis. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School class of 1960.He attended Purdue University and University of Cincinnati. He co-oped at Cincinnati Milling Machine Co. in Cincinnati and with the Edison Light in Chicago.His marriage was to Margery Suhr in Cincinnati and they later divorced. He was able to travel the United States while being an independent truck driver hauling oversized loads.He pursued various entrepreneurial ventures and then retired.Bud was known to enjoy a drink and a good cigar,alson conversations politics and people, and the company of his dog Magee. Surviving are his nieces Michele Easterwood Fitzgerald,North Carolina, Kelly Easterwood Hopwood and Nephew Brian Easterwood of Florida.Uncle Goerge McKinniss,Lafayette. Aunt Anne McKinnis Hausch of Pennsylvania and Aunt Ella McKinniss Snyder of Indianapolis. Visitation will be Friday 1:00PM-2:00PM September 27, 2013 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel Funeral Service 2:00PMFriday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel Bonnie Shoaf officiating.
