Virginia H. Haupt, 85, of Lafayette, IN, died at 9:24 am Saturday, March 1, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Central. She was born June 20, 1928 in Hillsdale, IN to the late Carl Cole and Gertrude Gaines Cole Simpson. She graduated from Montezuma High School in Parke County. On May 5, 1948 she married Arnold E. Haupt in Rockville and he passed away on December 5, 2012. Virginia enjoyed reading, golfing, gardening, working in her yard and bowling. She most enjoyed the time spent with her family and her grandchildren. Surviving are her Daughters, Susan Kay Ricks (Joseph) and Elizabeth Ann Johnson (Carl) and her daughter in law Marsha Haupt all of Lafayette. Also surviving are five grand children, Shelly Gray, Jason and Jennifer Johnson, Daniel and Lisa Ricks along with thirteen great grand children. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with the funeral at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald G. Haupt and a brother Donald Cole. Those wishing may contribute to the American Heart Assoc.
