Virginia A. Dunbar, 87, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Williamsport Nursing & Rehab.

She was born May 27, 1934, in Lafayette to the late George and Mary Nicholson White. Her first marriage was to Marion (Sonny) VanPelt father of her children, and he later passed away, she later married Lloyd Dunbar and he too passed away.

Virginia worked as a bus driver for the Lafayette Head Start program, volunteer and employee at the Jenks Senior Center and sold Avon.

Virginia enjoyed bingo, word search puzzles, crafts, gardening. She enjoyed the time she had with her family, but she loved the time with all her grandchildren, that was her life. She truly will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Surviving are her children, Allen VanPelt of Clarks Hill, Mary Ann Denny of Fowler, Kay Eldridge (husband Eugene) of Lafayette, Johnathan VanPelt of Marshfield, David VanPelt of Crawfordsville, Alice Tyner (husband James) of Veedersburg, Diana VanPelt of ClarksHill.  Her siblings, Patty Harshman of West Lafayette, Carl Spalding (wife Diana) of Lafayette, Kate Webster of Lafayette, Nancy King, West Lafayette. 18 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 28 great great-grandchildren, 1 great great great-grandchild, along with many others who have adopted her as their grandma.

Virginia was preceded in death by Sons, Goerge VanPelt, Randy VanPelt, Rick Morinskey Sr., brother Jim Spalding and 3 sisters- Barb Simms, Mary Terry, Joan Killion.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Soller-Baker Funeral Home Lafayette Chapel Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

Pastor Jamy Tyra officiating.  Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery, West Lebanon, IN.
