Vella B. Misner Niccum
Vella went to be with Jesus on April 29, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on July 4, 1931 in Lafayette, Tennessee to Hassie and Jim Allen. After the death of her first husband, Glen Misner, in 1973 Vella was a single mother and worked outside the home while raising her four young children, who survive: Rose Powell (husband Bob), Randy Misner, Gary Misner (partner Cindy), and Paul Misner (partner Robbie). Vella’s second husband, Donald Niccum, preceded her in death as well in 2009. Vella is also survived by one granddaughter SaDonna Croff (husband Jeff); four great-grandchildren: Nicole Moon (husband Brian), Cassia Wolfe, Kyle Wolfe (wife Jenn), and Katelyn Beverlin; a sister, Rose Mary Johnson (Dixon); and four nephews: George Dixon (wife Paula), Mike Dixon (wife Christy), Ronald Dixon, and Joe Dixon.
Vella loved walking on the beach looking for shells in Naples, Florida, taking trips with friends to zoos and concerts, and spending time with family and friends. Vella was a feisty lady with a great sense of humor who never knew a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation Tuesday May 3, 2016 from 10-11am Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel followed by funeral at 11:00am. Pastor Joe Bell officiating. Burial Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
