Tobin Nash Nichols, 31, of Lafayette, died at 10:37 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, in Lafayette.
He was born July 30, 1979, in Lafayette, and was the son of Cathy Nelson Nichols of Lafayette and the late David D. Nichols. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1998 and attended college.
Mr. Nichols attended Bethany Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing disc golf.
Surviving with his mother are a daughter, Arianna Grace Nichols of Lafayette, and five brothers, Colin Nichols (wife: Erin) of Indianapolis, Christopher Nichols (wife: Josetta) of Lafayette, Ian Nichols (wifeL Kristy) of Waukegan, IL, Joshua Nichols (wife: Keely) of Bloomington and Ross Nichols (wife: Christine) of Las Vegas, Nev.
Also surviving is his dog Tyson.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909, the Rev. Kevin Bowers officiating. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Natalies Second Chance, 10 S. 16th St., Lafayette, IN 47901.

I would like to extend my condolences on your loss. I did not know Tobin a long time, but I was fortunate to have known for as little time as I did. Tobin always had a smile and a hug for me, and his genuine emotion was undeniable.
I was unable to make it to the service due to my work schedule, but I wanted to let you know that Tobin was loved, and he will be missed. My heart aches for your family, but I know that Tobin is in good hands now, and can finally be free from his pain.

My son Joel was a good friend of Tobins and he and tyson would come to visit our house often in years past. I always liked Tobin and always injoyed his visits. I&m really sorry we could not be there today to show our Love and support. I had a fall on Tuesday and didn&t think the trip would help the healing or be wise at this time.
