Steven Ray Cochnower, 55, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette.

He was born October 10, 1966, in Lafayette, to Larry R. Cochnower and Marsha Smith Cochnower Kerhove. He was a 1984 graduate of McCutcheon High School and a United States Marine Corps Veteran. On February 21, 1998, he married Michelle Camp and they later divorced. Steven worked as an Electrical Maintenance technician for Tate & Lyle and was a member of the Citizens of the Cherokee Nation.

Steven enjoyed High School sports, fishing, and spending time with his son, family, and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

He is surviving by his son, Carson Cochnower of Lafayett;, former wife, Michelle Cochnower; his mother, Marsha Y. (Kenneth) Kerkhove of West Lafayette; sister, Michelle Cooper of Lafayette; nephew, Casey Cooper of Lafayette; niece, Madisyn Webb of Lafayette; and great nephew, Cannon Cooper. Also, surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Larry R. Cochnower.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 22, 2021, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette.

Service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Soller- Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette with Pastor Pam Mickler officiating.

Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, 1718 W. 350 South, West Lafayette, IN 47906.

Memorial contributions in Steven’s name may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
