Steve Hummel left a message on November 14, 2011:
To all the family,

I first met Steve at Mt Logan Jr High School. I always considered him a friend & admired his candor. He also had a sense of humor & it was good to have a big guy like him laughing when close by. He was credible protection a time or 2, as well.
Like so many of our 1969 CHS classmates, I had little contact with him over the recent years & wish that could have been different. I think he & I talked about that whenever it was that we last chatted. I&m pretty sure he said something like, ""Well, Hum -- it is what it is.""
My sincere condolences to all.

It is with a heavy heart that I bring many condolences to your family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Comer only breifly thru Aurora Parts. I found him to be genuinely sweet man with a big ole heart. I am so sad to hear this news and I pray for peace to his family and understanding. May god wrap you all in his warm hands and repair your broken hearts.

Steve was a trusted and loyal employee that worked with me in three different companies. I have nothing but fond memories of Steve and our relationship could not have been better. He will always be there when I look back at my own career and relive the memories.

To his family, my heart, my thoughts, and my prayers are with you.

To Steve, rest well my friend.

Marcia,
You and your children, your entire family, have my sympathy at this time of sorrow. I did not have the opportunity to meet your husband, but he surely was a wonderful guy with many friends. I know you will miss him and may the many good memories be a comfort.
I have thought so many times of the good times we had walking to school together when we were kids. I will hold you and your family in my good thoughts at this time.
With sympathy,
Suzy Fisher Karberg
