Shirley A. Fitzgerald, 78, of Lafayette passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at University Place. She was born September 13, 1935, in Lafayette to the late Edward and Elizabeth Wiese Farley. On January 21, 1956 she married Robert Fitzgerald in Lafayette and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2012. Shirley was an active member St. Mary Cathedral in Lafayette. Surviving are her children Kevin Fitzgerald of Cincinnati, OH, Michelle “Shelly” Henriott husband Gary of Lafayette, Mark Fitzgerald wife Beth of Georgetown, Patrick Fitzgerald of Daytona, FL, Kathy Eason husband Tim of Andrews, TX, Pam Lueken husband Joe of Bloomington, 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Ed Farley wife Betty of Atlanta, GA and many loving nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by a grandson Oliver and a brother James Farley. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Mass of Christian Buiral will 1:30 PM Friday at St. Mary Cathedral, Fr. Eric Underwood officiating. Those wishing may contribute, in Shirley's memory, to the St. Mary CCD or Community Cancer Network.
