Shirley Ann Eenigenburg of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East. Shirley was born on June 20, 1946, in Louisville KY, daughter of the late Orson and Katherine Thurman Asay.
As a baby Shirley moved with her parents to her father’s home town, Lovell WY. She loved her life in Wyoming but moved with her parents during her high school years and she graduated from Boswell High School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Shirley married Jay Eenigenburg in 1973, they later divorced. She worked as a waitress, in housekeeping, and as a school crossing guard. Her greatest love was being a mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her children: Michelle (Tim) Wagoner and Abigail (Trent) Taylor both of Lafayette, and two brothers: Carlos (Colette) Asay, Lafayette and Ronald (Debra) Asay, Payson, UT. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Dakota, Autumn, Izzy, Jeramiah, Alex and Daniel.
Visitation will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3224 Jasper Street, W. Lafayette, IN from 9:30am till 10:30am with funeral services following at 11:00am on Friday November 17, 2017. Interment at the Boswell Cemetery will follow the funeral. Soller-Baker Funeral Home, Lafayette Chapel in charge of arrangements.
